So you have these articles, and they’re ranking for a few keywords each. You’re getting that juicy organic traffic. But you want more. You want to spread the word about your website, and what better way than to get your content on Amazon.
Getting your content on Amazon is fairly easy to do yourself, or very inexpensive to have someone do it for you. Using the Kindle Direct Publishing platform is a great way to get your brand in front of people that want to read what you have to say.
The steps are as follows:
- Compile
- Format
- Upload
- Permafree
- Profit
So first you’ll need to compile a number of articles you have that would work well together in a book. Regardless of your niche, you should have a few pillar posts and smaller filler posts that will flow together well and read like an actual book. If you can’t do that, you need more articles.
After you figure out what your articles are going to be, either learn how to format an ebook or pay someone from Fiverr or somewhere to format it for you. You can go the dirtbag route and do it quickly in Word, which works, but it might have formatting issues.
Now you’ll have to create an Amazon KDP account (which is super easy) and upload your book. I have a few posts about writing descriptions, doing keywords and everything else in the archives somewhere. It’s not hard if you’re familiar with SEO.
After you upload it to KDP, you’ll want to upload it to other storefronts because Amazon doesn’t allow you to set the price to free. I use Draft2Digital to set the price to free. After you upload it to Draft2Digital or where ever, you’ll want to email KDP support and tell them your book is free at a number of places.
Two days later or so your book should be free on Amazon and people will start downloading and reading it.
If you plan on selling the books, just skip step four and you’ll be rolling in the dough in no time.
